A rebirth is among the airline industry as American Airlines launched it new look for the 21st century. American's latest logo is a far stretch from the double A Eagle and silver airships that we have all become accustom to.
With a mica gray fuselage American keeps its traditional Red, White and Blue which now mimics a wind blown American flag on its tail. The tradtional eagle is replaced with a soaring one. All of this compliments interior changes in the American fleet. On this day I toured a Boeing 737-800. The first thing I noticed was Boeings Sky Interior. This is a break away from traditional interiors. The new "Sky" gives a much larger feel to the inside of the cabin. This, accompanied by LED lighting, greater leg room options as well as larger capacity overhead storage.
Currently, American is waiting for its first two triple 7's (Boeing 777) with its new livery which is expected at the end of February and will have a maiden flight from Dallas to Sao Paulo.
